The 2008 Season Staff Search is on!

Hiring for the 2008 Season is underway. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, team oriented, friendly, customer service oriented individuals. If you would like to work for The Murray Hotel and the Inn on Mackinac next season, please return the enclosed application as soon as possible. Please indicate the type of employment that you desire and the dates available. Remember, we require your completed application in order to hire you. Wages and Incentives

The hourly rate for the 2008 Murray Hotel, Inc. Rotation worker will be $7.50-$8.00** an hour. Desk Clerks and Office Assistants will be paid $8.00** an hour. **Rates include $.50 travel expense if you work through the date specified on your Hired Letter. Dock porters will receive $5.77plus tips.

Positions Available for the 2008 Season at the Murray Hotel
and the Inn on Mackinac:

Rotation Workers: Workers within this department rotate between jobs at the Murray Hotel and The Inn on Mackinac; Fudge Sales, Cappuccino Sales, Banquet Staff, Breakfast Staff, and Housekeeping.

Desk Clerks/Reservationists: Check guests in and out, take reservations, answer telephones, typing, other clerical duties and helping out at the cappuccino and fudge counters as needed. Bookkeeping or accounting helpful.

Dock Porters: Bring luggage to and from boats, pick up shipments and run miscellaneous errands for the Murray Hotel and the Inn on Mackinac. Dock Porters can earn excellent tips.

Management: Employees can advance into these positions in each department.

Housing

If you wish to live in Bennett Hall (Murray Hotel, Inc. employee housing) the rent will be $45.00 per week paid every two weeks. Rooms are dormitory style with separate shared bathrooms for men and women. Cooking facilities are available. Murray Hotel, Inc. does not supply food to employees. Coin operated washers and dryers are available on Bennett premises. Refrigerators are also made available for food storage.

(Note: We require that all our employees have secured housing on the island prior to their first work day.)
